Justice Reach agrees with the 18 Foundational Values of YWAM. Value 16 is to:

RELY ON RELATIONSHIP-BASED SUPPORT

”YWAM is called to a relationship-based support system, depending upon God and His people for financial provision, both corporately and individually. We believe that relationship-based support promotes responsibility, accountability, communication, and mutual prayer. It involves the donor as a partner in ministry. As God and others have been generous toward us, so we desire to be generous. YWAMers give themselves, their time and talents to God through the mission with no expectation of remuneration.”

Therefore, Justice Reach is a volunteer organisation with no salary or allowance being paid from within the organisation to any member. Volunteers are asked to cover their own transport to and from the area of service and be responsible for their own personal expenses.

We will make every effort to advise you how to adhere to this foundational value and you will be encouraged by the regular testimonies from your colleagues.

STATEMENT OF BURIAL AND LIABILITY RELEASE

We encourage each YWAMer, prospective student and volunteer to seriously consider some possible consequences of missions work and training. Although death is extremely rare in service with Youth With A Mission internationally and Justice Reach, it is nevertheless an experience that awaits each one of us eventually and we need to prepare for it.

In extensive travel in less developed countries, where diseases are more prevalent, fatal accidents and sicknesses can occur. In these countries, burial is a real problem. We would strongly encourage burial on the field, as decay can start very quickly. Shipping a body home could cost several thousand dollars. Also, a special, expensive coffin is sometimes required by law in some countries and the coffin must be accompanied by someone on the return journey.

We endeavor to maintain a Christian view of death; that it is not the final step but just a passage; that the person is not in the coffin, but just his earthly shell; and that the priority for limited resources must be for the living. Justice Reach does everything possible to protect staff and students on the field. In case of death, Justice Reach cannot commit to cover the costs of shipping the body to another country for purposes of burial or to ultimately cover the burial costs in the country of death. If the family desires to see the body transported back home, the family must incur the cost.

Justice Reach strongly advises that every short-term volunteer have personal travel insurance (medical or death related coverage, transport, field burial, etc.). This coverage is the exclusive responsibility of the individual. It is also strongly advised that every individual, regardless of age, have a will.

BURIAL STATEMENT

I agree that in the case of my death while in Youth With A Mission, Justice Reach may carry out the burial in the location of the decease. If my family desires to have the body shipped home, my family will pay for it. I hereby absolve YWAM-Justice Reach and all its staff and associates of the burial costs.

Because you are under 18 years of age, we will require the signature of a parent or legal guardian. YWAM Justice Reach will contact you directly with further details on how we would like this signature supplied. Please continue with the application and submit as normal.

RELEASE OF LIABILITY

I do hereby release YWAM-Justice Reach, its agents, staff and volunteer assistants from any liability whatsoever arising out of injury, illness, damage or loss which may be sustained by said person during the course of participation with YWAM-Justice Reach.

NOTE: It is required that all students, full-time staff, short-term helpers and volunteers have health insurance to cover expenses generated in the event of an injury or illness.

CONSENT FOR TREATMENT

I do hereby agree to the performances of such treatment, anesthetics and operations as in the opinion of the attending physician are deemed necessary and the release of all available medical records to Justice Reach.
